Hey there Fire Dawgs!!!
My name is Alan, I am a firefighter currently stationed with the 520th ENG DET, 10th Mountain Division Ft Drum NY!!
We were deployed from 14 feb 03 - 07 feb 04, wicked lot of fun over there. We were basically in Kuwait at Shuaiba Port, the main seaport in kuwait. We provided ARFF, structural hazmat and EMS for a medium sized AO.
This looks like a great site, and I can't wait to chat with you guys. Anyone know of any ARFF openings in the NewEngland Rhode Island area??

Welcome to the site. Check out Quonset for ARFF openings. I'm in the Guard unit there and I think I heard something about possible upcoming openings on the civilian side. Stay safe. Later.

thanks for the info HYAPat, I will check that out, one of my buddies actually works there on the civillian side. Hey just a question about your guard unit. You guys deploy alot??? or do you just work quonsett on the weekends??? what kind of trucks are you using over there??

Right now, half the department is in the sand box, so we cover drill weekends with the remaining military guys and civilian ffs on overtime. Vehicles are: Crash Trucks (p-4, p-19, p-23) Engine (p-24) Tanker, Rescue, Ramp truck (p-10), Chiefs truck. There was an Ambulance briefly, but that's been gone for about a year. What are you guys running at Drum?

our detachment right now is waiting for our new truck, we usually run 2 humvees, a 916 tractor with a 6,000 gallon water tanker, and a 2500l MACI........we are slotted to get the new TFFT in July, which should be interesting.........When we are not doing soldier training, we are running with the civillans on post, they have Oshkosh crash trucks I could not even tell you what numbers they are, probally 2 p-19's and 3 Titans??? I didn't get to work the airfield. They have a nice setup here, 3 stations, and they are looking to build a new station in the next 2 years.

Are 51Ms becoming more and more of a scarce MOS? Seems CONUS, there are next to no Army FFs anymore, they all seem to be civilian.
