Hello new kid to the block and would like to ask if anybody has E-One type engines. Currently we have bids out for new apparatus and E-One has answered the call. Some of us see this as a blessing and some of us see this as a sign of trouble. If you have a Titan type apparatus. I would appreciate your views all pros and cons to your truck look forward to hearing from you. Currently we have the following
Oshkosh 86 T-3000
International 80 (farm equiptment at it's best)
2000 GMC clubcab Command

hey guys
about eone and oshkosh.
it really goes down to personnel preferance.
personnal i like oshkosh. i have been on them for over 20 years.
but eone also makes good rigs. we had two TitianIV on johnston and they were pretty good. fast and dependable.
now here we havean eone 8x8 hpr that has been a real headache from the day it arrived.
we are putting two oshkosh T-3000's in service now. the bottom line for most is we have to take the lowest quailifed bid.
if you want to know more about the eone drop me a line.
i just got the approval for a new package and i really hope that there are enough funds for two Strikers.

G'day all
I am a new kid to the board but i may have a little info that could help you. Our Service recieved some new Titans about 3yrs ago, these are the small 4x4 HPR units. I have found the truck to be very quick and handles well over rought ground. The pump set up on ours is very simple but takes a bit of time to ramp up once the pump and roll mode is selected. The high pressure hose line on our Titans is also a big inprovement on our last trucks ( Oshkosh P-4 ).
There have been problems with the computer system but that is now rare and there are a number of manual back up systems instaled which are easy to use. Well that's my opinion on our unit's, hope it help's.

I have been in ARFF for about twenty years and come to a few conclusions. Keep it simple! Less toys means less down time. Central Tire Inflation is a big pain. Write your specs to your individual needs and not just what others are buying. I know that a lot of advancements have been made over the years and any of the major company's make good products. I am partial to Oshkosh because I think they have the most expierience in building big, sturdy trucks of all types. Look at thier web site and you'll see what I mean. Ron
