I must be still in the stone age have never heard of AAAR Master Firefighter cert. All our folks @ Monterey Airport are California certified Firefighter I and Firefighter II and the Old Fire Control 5 ARFF and or FAA Hot Drills. From what I understand the AAAE is a group of airport admin folks. Any information that you can post will help all members of ARFF.INFO

Skee, I went to the AAAE website and found that they have airport firefighter cert. and Airport Master Firefighter cert. you must have 10 yrs. civilian airport time or military time at half plus civilian time to equal 10yrs. It is a lengthy cert. 150 quest. test over all supervisory and management positions and a minimum 25 page essay on something pertinenet to ARFF nationwide, then after the board approves that, you either give a presentation at ARFF Chief School or sit in on a board interview. You get 3yrs. to complete and the course cost around $170. The best part is you do all the work yourself and your essay gets published into AAAE library. Cotact is Craig Williams at Craig.Williams@airportnet.org

I have just received the C.M.F. certification. It is a long and hard process. They will mail you all of the study materials. The test is a monster. I was the first person to go through the new program. It was tough but I learned alot. It took approximately 2 yrs to complete.

Congratulations CHFARFF!

Sorry for my late congrats.

Thanks for being the first one to test their new system. I completed the Senior Level in 1996. I’m thankful that AAAE changed some of the requirements to apply. Being from one of the smallest airports, funding isn’t always available for out of state training.
