What's wrong with this picture?IFC Inspector 5th July 2006, 16:45 See if you can spot the problem from the overview shot of the farm. Open MVC-069F.JPG (http://www.arff.info/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=689&stc=1&d=1152132372) first. PVD arff 5th July 2006, 20:38 "You mean we have to hold that thing the whole time? Man, you firemens are tough..." Was the pump actually running when you did the inspection, or do they just turn the fuel pump on and off as needed? Its nice to see every once and a while that no matter how well fire prevention works, there are always people in the world that make the fire suppression and incident stablization aspect of our job necessary. fireflight03 6th July 2006, 09:09 Wow...that's almost as good as smoking under a wing. I know of a guy...long since unemployed...who topped off a fuel truck, with the dead-man from inside the cab (too cold.) Fell asleep, lost touch with reality (whatever) and the shutoff failed to shutoff when the tank was topped and you can figure the rest. All of this is almost as crazy as me showing up to work today. Cnota 2912 13th July 2006, 11:09 Man, if I found that at O'Hare the last person to fill a tanker would be flipping burgers tomarrow. We can write fines at ORD, and the group that runs the tank farm can tell us who filled what, how much and when from their computer records. I would write the last guy because even if he didn't block the deadman, he used it and left it that way. The agreement we have with the fueling companies is that if ANYONE is cought blocking a deadman, they get FIRED on the spot. Un fortunetly, it has happened so I know they will do it. But then again, smiling, happy, stupid people keep me in a job.... Bob Breckel 14th July 2006, 21:15 Thanks for sharing these photos. I hope you don't mind me using them in my fueler fire safety class that I teach fueler supervisors. This is exactly what these people need to see. Thanks again. Bob Breckel arff109 16th July 2006, 18:11 Good training pics! thanks my friend. Airwing 8 17th July 2006, 12:03 As mentioned earlier Fuel truck driver falling asleep even had his cup of coffee in his hand when we woke him, with 75 gallons + under his truck before we got him to stop. AmarilloArff 19th July 2006, 21:26 Thanks for sharing pics.
